Best Practices

Start Selective

Begin with critical alerts only, then add more as needed. It's easier to add notifications than to filter a flooded inbox.

Use Digests for Stability

For stable sites, weekly digests are often sufficient. Reserve immediate alerts for critical issues.

Match Notifications to Workflow

  • Check email in the morning? Use overnight digest.
  • Need to act fast? Use immediate critical alerts.
  • Want less noise? Use weekly summaries for stable sites.

Don't Ignore Alerts

If you find yourself ignoring notifications:

  • They may be too frequent (switch to digest)
  • Thresholds may be too sensitive (adjust them)
  • You may need to fix underlying issues
